THE RESTAURANT SERVER EDITION!!
In addition to my freelance, I wait tables. Having done this in college and through portfolio school, I feel able to lay down some opinions about the customers.
Things to do in a restaurant
1. Ask me questions. That’s why I’m here. I’d prefer you ask me questions about the food on the menu now rather than be dissatisfied later.
2. Treat me the way you’d like to be treated. This seems like common sense, but as most people know, common sense isn’t that common.
3. Go with the flow. As in life, remember there are variables neither one of us has control over. If we hit a bump in the road, take it in stride rather than catch a case.
4. Live a little. You’ve taken the effort to go out to eat. In my opinion, you should do so. Try something new. Spring for the extra toppings. Order a milkshake. Buy another round. Life is too short to deny yourself a little indulgence.
5. Roll with me, Henry. I’m doing my best to make sure you have a great experience. However, I’m also trying to do the same for the nine other tables in my section. I may not be able to take an order the second you sit. But I’ll be over ASAP, trust me.
6. Ask for me again. If you had a great time when I was your server, ask for me again. When a guest asks to sit in my section, it makes me feel good. I’ll be more likely to go the extra mile when I know you.
7. Tip appropriately. There’s a funny (not funny haha, but funny ugh) occurrence in restaurants. The people who require the most work are typically the worst tippers. Welcome to the 21st century - 20% is the new 15%. Anything less than 15% and I’ll remember you for the wrong reasons.

Dictionary Time!
catch a case: Lose your mind over something. Can manifest in physical, emotional, or verbal outbursts - none of which are helpful.
Roll with me, Henry: go with the flow and try to stay calm.
