Rave - November 23 (vol. iii)

T-minus 2 days to Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the entire year. Think about it: a holiday devoted entirely to food, family, football, and thinking about how nice your life is.  Plus, no one gets mad at you when you abruptly get up and declare, “I’m taking a nap.” It’s expected. Everybody wins.

This year I’ll be spending the holiday with family on the South Side. I was recruited to arrive early and help with the food. Silly me, I assumed cooking for 6-8 people. I agreed and was then informed the number was more like 20. Momentarily horrified, I quickly got over it.

Anyone who knows me knows that wouldn’t bother me. I’m a bit of a food pusher anyway. The thought of a house full of people who are surrounded by food is just a little too ideal. I’ll probably end up running around with a baby on my hip, herding children away from the turkey. When it comes time to eat, I’ll overeat (per usual) then lay down to let the food settle. Within the hour, I’ll be eating again. My aunt will ask me to “take a plate” home and I’ll leave with a paper shopping bag full of food. WIN.

Excuse me while I go to the gym in anticipation of being a glutton.
